The market correction continues as rising interest rates persist. Looking at detached single-family homes, 5,674 new listings came on the market in June, a month-over-month increase of 14.3%.
The average sales price in Denver increased slightly month-over-month to $810,415. And while homes are selling for 103% of the asking price on average, that's down 2.3% compared to May.
NOW VS. 2008
Rising interest rates are putting the brakes on the blistering, unsustainable pace of our real estate market. And despite the sensational news headlines, what's happening is a return to normalcy.
What differentiates today's market? Double-digit equity gains, financially stable buyers, curtailed predatory lending, and nowhere near enough home inventory to create a balanced market. In fact, with the real estate market correcting and coming back down to earth, now just might be a great time to buy a home if it makes sense for your needs and finances! CLICK HERE to find out more about the market shift and why it's still a good time to buy and sell.
